Berlin Pride attacker served time for trying to join ISIS, officials say

German police shot and killed a 21-year-old man suspected of driving a hired vehicle into Berlin’s LGBTQ+ Pride parade after he confronted officers with a knife, according to a senior German police official. The man, Abdul Ballout, died on Sunday at the scene of the encounter in Spandau, an outer district of the capital. His death came after an investigation that had already focused on the alleged vehicle ramming at the march.
